Convert Videos and Camcorder: VHS (PAL/NTSC), S-VHS, S-VHS-C, VHS-C, Hi8, MiniDV, DVC, Betamax
A staple of recorded moving image from the late 1970s to the 2000s the VHS video was used for recording of the television and for home movies. We have worked with individuals and organisations to transfer different types of videos (from camcorder tapes in compact VHS, Hi8, and MiniDV formats, standard VHS - in both PAL and NTSC formats - and the less common Betamax) which have included
- home movies
- clips from TV programmes on which family members have appeared
- recordings of live events including concerts and theatre performances
- commercial recordings which are no longer available to allow them to be accessed by the owner again
We can provide the digital versions back in a variety of formats, including MP4 and MOV (but other formats are also available if required), and they will be available to download from the cloud for an agreed period of time. We can also convert videos to DVD (with chapters, if required) to allow people without access to the Internet to watch the videos again, and we have also created YouTube videos uploaded to private channels to share with family.
The basic cost of transferring a video starts at £12.99 per tape, regardless of length, which will create a single MP4 file, which can be downloaded from the cloud. Splitting into separate files, or converting to other formats, may incur a small additional charge.
