Convert Mini Discs
Released in the 1990s as a replacement for the cassette, the MiniDisc was a digital recording medium aimed at home users. As a format it was not long-lived, but it allowed recordings to be edited far more easily than on cassettes so it did win a lot of support. The MiniDisc was only very rarely used for commercial releases, so we have worked with individuals to transfer various different types of private recordings which have included
- public and school musical concerts and recitals
- programmes recorded off the radio
We can provide the digital versions back in a variety of formats, including WAV, MP3 and FLAC (but many other formats are also available if required), and they will be available to download from the cloud for an agreed period of time. We can also convert MiniDiscs to CDs (with tracking, if required) to allow people without access to the Internet to listen to recordings again, and we have also created YouTube videos with a fixed images to be shared either publicly or on a private channel.
The basic cost of transferring a MiniDisc starts at £9.99 per MD, regardless of length, which will create a single WAV file, which can be downloaded from the cloud. Tracking, or converting to other formats, may incur a small additional charge.
